An ancient Roman knife ring design updated with a sparkling 0.20 carat marquise shape white diamond.

The 18k yellow gold ring tapers gently towards the back for a comfort fit. Band is 3.5mm tapering to 2.20mm; 0.20 carat rosecut white diamond.

The story behind the marquise shaped diamond can be traced to the mistress of the King Louis XV, Madame de Pompadour's beautiful lips.  According to the legend, the French King wanted an item of jewelry shaped after her sensuous lips. He commissioned his court jewelers to create a jewelry piece studded with diamonds and thus the marquise shape was born.
